San Isidro Labrador Parish – Aurora, ZDS
The much awaited Diocesan Youth Day is finally happening today with around 350-400 youth of PYA from the four Vicariates converging in Aurora. The said event began with the Opening Mass at 10 in the morning presided by his Most Rev. Ronald Lunas, DD and concelebrated by twelve priests.
Bishop Bong first welcomed everyone present including the Holy Infant Seminarians, KofC youth, Legion of Mary, SOCComM Youth volunteers, choir and Altar Servers with special mention to Camille Depano, the invited guest speaker. In his homily, Bishop Bong that we should emulate the deep faith of the 2 blind men which is characterized by trust, getting to know better and service.
The 1st Session followed promptly after the mass. The theme, ” Synodality on Youth: Communion, Participation, Mission” was given more clarity and understanding with Bishop Bong’s message. He focused on Communion as an important element of Synodality which is a call to journey together as one people that excludes no one. He highlights the virtue of seeing God in others in the same manner that one sees the self in others while striving to see goodness more than the bad especially in others so as to build bridges of unity and reconciliation with one another.
In the end, the latin words “Ite Mission Est! Deo Gratias!” which means, Go, there is mission! Thanks be to God! is his challenge to all the youth participants present in the Diocesan Youth Day
