8th Diocesan Bible Apostolate Convention

THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD

The Commission on the Biblical Apostolate of the Diocese of Pagadian headed by Rev. Fr. Salvador B. Banga together with his assistant, Rev. Fr. Nestor Bahala just held the 8th Diocesan Bible Apostolate Convention at the Lay Formation Center of the Sto. Niño Cathedral Parish in Pagadian City from Sept. 2-3, 2022. The heavy downpour did not stop the Biblical Apostolate parish coordinators coming from the four vicariates from actively participating in this important event. Also present were nine members of the BLD (Bukas Loob sa DIyos) from Molave.

The theme, THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD, was given life with the inspiring and Spirit filled lecture and presentations given by the CBCP – Episcopal Commission on Bible Apostolate (ECBA) Executive Secretary, Rev. Fr. Arlo Bernardo Yap, SVD together with the CBCP -ECBA Staff. The two hundred six delegates, all wearing fiery red polo shirts, were evidently moved and motivated to deepen their understanding of the Word of God vis a vis their faith and life in order to better serve their respective parish communities. They listened with keen interest as they reflected and prayed over the different Scripture passages given to them throughout the two days convention.

Rev. Fr. Allan Onden, the parish priest of the Santo Niño Cathedral gave a warm welcome at the start of the Convention while His Most Reverend Ronald Lunas, STL, DD celebrated the Eucharist in the afternoon of September 2 for the 206 delegates and the CBCP-ECBA team who came all the way from Manila for this important event. It ended with a concelebrated mass the followed by a simple closing rite where all the participants were given a certificate of attendance.

Special thanks is accorded to all the volunteers who divided themselves into different Committees: Registration, Food, Ways and Means. Their active service paved the way in making this 8th Diocesan Bible Apostolate Convention a success.

Congratulations! Padayon…
