BOOK LAUNCHING | Glimpses by Rev. Fr. Belstar O. Ediang, STL

Glimpses: Question, Reflection, Appropriate Action.

It was an engaging Tuesday afternoon at St. Columban Law School Library as we officially launched Fr. Belstar’s first book, Glimpses Question, Reflection, Appropriate Action here in the Diocese of Pagadian. It comes as a timely gift to us as we continue to commemorate the 500 Years of Christianity with the theme Gifted to Give and the Jubilee Year of the Diocese of Pagadian. His concise and straightforward articles capture the essence of our faith and inspires us to delve deeper into our own lives with questions, reflections and appropriate actions that somehow fill one’s longing for God.

The program started promptly at 3:30 in the afternoon with Clyde hosting and Christian Taripe of the Campus Ministry welcoming the group. A short video of the Benefits of Reading was presented before the conference proper. Fr. Belstar related to the audience about his long journey of how writing first sparked his interest which started way back in his younger years until he entered the seminary and up to the present as a diocesan priest.

An open forum provided a venue for the audience especially the students and friends from the media to ask pertinent questions related to the book. Dr. Genesis Naparan and Dr. Mario F. Alayon each gave an enlightening commentary about the book expressing with gratitude the gem of wisdom shared by Fr. Belstar in his book, Glimpses.

The launching ended with the song Panagdait composed by Fr. Belstar himself for SCC who was formerly the institution’s Vice President of Administration and Finance.

We are grateful to St. Columban College for organizing this special event where the school faculty, staff and selected students have this rare opportunity to listen to the book author himself. Dr. Susan Ramirez, the Vice President for Academic Affairs of SCC as well as friends from the media, DXPR, Radyo Malindang Broadcasting and SOCCOM Pagadian were also present to cover the event.
