30th Pearl Jubilee and Dedication of Our Lady of Fatima Parish

Our Lady of Fatima parish in Tugas, Balangasan district joyfully celebrates its 30th pearl jubilee and dedication today in a whole day festivity that begins with the solemn Holy Eucharist at 9:30 in the morning. This was presided by the Most Rev. Ronald Lunas, DD together with the parish priest, Fr. Vince Romanos, Assist. Parish priest, Fr. Dexter Zamora and sixteen other diocesan clergy. The church was full and overflowing in attendance by the laity with the holy infant seminarians serving as choir in the mass.

In his homily, Bishop Lunas tells us that the church is dedicated in order to journey with others (Gidihugan aron makig-uban). The consecration of the church is something extraordinary for it is a sign of god’s presence whereby it journeys with us from birth to death. It is witness in the significant moments of our lives,  in our joys and sorrows, in our successes and failures therefore, edifying our faith in god, calling us to participate more actively in announcing the good news of salvation through the exercise of our priestly, prophetic and kingly roles.

He reminds us that the church is here in order to celebrate the mystery of our salvation and to serve our brothers and sisters emphasizing many times over that the church is anointed and blessed in order to journey with others and not to gain profit or make money.

The dedication of the church immediately followed with the blessing of the holy oil of the altar and the church columns.
